Lakmini Wijesundera Co-founder, Director and Chief Executive Officer,
Ironone Technologies (Private) Limited.
LakminiWijesundera has over 20 years’ experience in guiding companies’ strategic direction, global growth and innovations and as co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ironone Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, she has overseen all aspects of Ironone business and is the driving force behind Ironone’s global success.
Ironone Technologies is one of Sri Lanka’s most successful IT companies with over 120 full time professionals and four global offices in Singapore, Malaysia, USA and Sri Lanka and 15 partner offices> The company’s global clientele includes many fortune 500 companies and top 100 corporates in each country that Ironone is present in.
Ironone has four divisions of operation. The first is BoardPAC, an ipad enabled board meeting and exco meeting automation solution sold in over 15 countries and used by the top 100 corporates in those countries. he second is Atrad the stock market and broker solutions platform holding servicing over 75% of the stock trading in Sri Lanka. The third is the high end mobile solutions division based in the US which undertakes high profile work for Victoria Secrets, Ralph Lauren, Tory Birch, Hollywood Reporter and many such premium brands. The fourth is the banking and sector specific Bi solutions division which provides in-depth analytics and user friendly ipad access to analytics to corporates.
Lakmini’s key motivation is creating a change for the better and constantly pushing the limits to achieve greater heights. She strives to bring recognition of the quality and branding of Sri Lankan products to the attention of the most powerful businesses around the globe. Ironone’s strategic innovations have touched the lives of the top level decision makers.
Lakmini has been the recipient of several prestigious industry recognition awards for her contribution to the Information Technology sector of Sri Lanka such as ’Female ICT Leader of the year’, by Computer Society of Sri Lanka ( CSSL) and being ranked among the 50 most powerful women in business by the Echelon Magazine. Ironone Technologies has been selected as one of the ‘most respected companies’ in the 2016 LMD business review and awards.
Prior to co-founding Ironone, Ms. Wijesundera has managed IT programs funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the field of poverty alleviation and the micro-finance banking sector. She formerly was the Manager of the Information Technology and Software Development division at Lanka Bell and was a key member of the start upCeycom Global Communications. Lakmini has a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering from the University College London, University of London and has a M.Sc. from Imperial College, University of London and her primary and secondary education was at C.M.S. Ladies College in Colombo Sri Lanka.
