Launch of the WCIC Northern Chapter

19th of February Marked a historic milestone for the WCIC as we officially spread our wings to the Northern Province establishing our presence. A full day of activity was crafted to enhance the occasion. The project in the North was conducted over the last 2 years prior to formally establishing the Chapter with the support of the German Asia- Pacific Business Association ( OAV). The main objective of the Chapter will be to support the women entrepreneurs in the North extending the skills , competencies and governance procedure that the WCIC is very strong in.

The day commenced with an interactive skill building workshop on “Fundamentals of Finance” by Somasuriyasingam Janarthanan of JA Partners – Chartered Accountants for entrepreneurs at the Mangalam at Thinnai

The office premises was formally inaugurated with the WCIC team members and representatives of OAV

The day concluded with an official launch ceremony at the Mangalam Thinnai, to an audience of invitees, including Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, L. Ilaangovan, and Government Agent/District Secretary, M. Piratheepan. The audience consisted of Entrepreneurs, business community, representatives of Banks, Government organizations, well-wishers and the WCIC members.

The important step of spreading our wings to the Northern Province will be our first initiative in making a formal presence as the National Chamber for women in business
